We will try to give you as many practical test tips to prepare you but a lot of it is practice practice practice - this of course takes time.

The whole principle of the practical Driving Test is to reveal if you can drive safely while keeping command of the vehicle on the road. Your examiner will grade your driving skills & techniques through various procedures if he/she is satisfied only then will you pass

Tip:
don't get ahead of yourself and book your test before you are ready, if your not sure ask us we will be able to put you through a mock test to find out!

Your Practical driving test will take up to 40 minutes to complete and is conducted from your local driving test centre. You will be called, asked to sign a form then you need to produce a few items like test appointment card, driving licence, photographic ID. After a simple sight test to make sure your eyesight meets the requirements. Candidates attending DSA test centres must have both parts of licence and theory certificate if they don't they will not be able to take test and will loose their fee, test day is between you and DSA and streetwize is not responsible for the actions of the DSA.

Prior to getting into the car at the beginning of the Test, you will be asked a couple of questions concerning to vehicle safety and maintenance.
One 'show me' and one 'tell me' question answered incorrectly will be logged as faults to pass you must have less than 15 faults!

You will be driving on a variety roads & traffic conditions which you should be able to control, the examiner will assess your abilities to drive capabilities and safety techniques that you have developed in your lessons - should he/she feel you have driven dangerously he/she can stop the test and you have failed.

For best results you should relax and drive the way that you have been taught, don't focus on any mistakes rather concentrate on the various tasks that you will be required to do eg; reversing around a corner, reverse parking, completing a turn in the road commonly known as (three point turn) or an emergency stop.
